Beth Moore Conference

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend a Beth Moore conference with 2 of my friends. The praise and worship was phenomenal! Oh, music can cut through to the core of my soul! Beth Moore was both hilarious and inspirational. The word she focused on in the 3 sessions was "Prepare" She listed 9 points about the word prepare.

Here are the 2 points that spoke to me the most:

God has PREPARED for us even when we are in a desert.
Just like there are the seasons of spring, summer, winter, and fall, our spiritual journeys in this messed up life on our trek to heaven is broken up into seasons too. There is the exciting, high mountain and the low, dry desert. If you are like me, I dread the season of winter...I do not enjoy being cold, but winter is a normal season, a part of life right? The same is true in your spiritual life. I don't know anyone who "enjoys" going through a desert, but guess what? It is and will always be a normal season of life, until God calls us home to be with Him.
Here's the good news, God sees when our deserts are coming and He prepares to take care of us through that season. However we often get side tracked by focusing on the discouragements of this life and allow ourselves to wallow in our self-pity. I know this is true of me anyways. If only we understood that if we will truly listen in that season, He is wanting to speak oh so gently to us. He wants us to bring Him our broken hearts and comfort us through the season of heart ache and suffering. Sometimes we can't go through to our promise land until we have gone through the desert, and often times it is in the desert where God will open the next door of promise for you.
Those who are mightiest in battle have PREPARED for it.
It is never an accident when we fall into battle. In the book of Judges the Israelite's prepared for themselves shelters to hide in. We to can prepare ourselves for battle. In the book of Joshua God told them to go take their enemies land, but to leave all of their "stuff". Sometimes we become defeated because we are hanging onto something that we shouldn't. Is there something in your life that you are hanging onto that God wants you to get rid of? A movie? A book? MOVE IT OUT AND VICTORY WILL RETURN!

2 Tim 2:21 "If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work."

I am claiming this promise as my new life verse! I greatly desire to be a vessel that can be used in my Master's hands.
