A special 30th. birthday

My vacation has officially started. I am now home, enjoying the beautiful weather outside on our swing. I am looking forward to a much needed break. Oh what to do now that most of our house is finished, our yard looks great, and the big party is over?! The possibilities are endless such as spending much time at Archivers scrapbooking, reading a new series by Francine Rivers, "The Mark of the Lion", getting caught up on sleep, maybe eat lunch with Brian one day, taking walks around the neighborhood, spending time with my nieces, and maybe some other good stuff. I hope to splurge on myself in order to get refreshed to going back.

Saturday was Brian's big day. There were a total of 25 there including us. We had his closest friends and family over. We had way too much food and a great time of fellowship. It was exciting to have many people over to our home for the first time and them celebrating 2 happy occasions with us. Brian seemed to have a wonderful day. He was so surprised about getting such nice gifts, as he really did not want nor expect anything. He received a sweet frame from our nieces, several restaurant gift cards, a home depot gift card, a lowes gift card, 2 t-shirts, a weed eater from his parents, a jar of dark chocolates, one friend made him quiche, and his cousin made him cherry pie. He was so thankful for the sweet gifts.
My favorite part of the day was singing Happy Birthday to him. It was both a beautiful sound and a beautiful moment to be surrounded by his closest people. While we were singing he just looked so happy and a tear almost crept up on me. I pray that if the Lord tarries that he would give Brian many, many more birthday's!

Yeah, it was lots of fun--thanx for inviting us! You know, I expected a lot more pictures, since you seemed to take a bunch of them :)
