We have a crib!

Saturday we went to buy our crib and it ended up being a very, very long day and big ordeal! It was exhausting! Do you want to hear about the drama? Yay, for story time!

So we wanted to wait until Saturday to get our crib because we had a 20% off coupon, and even though It was Brian's parents that was paying for it, we still wanted to be good stewards and wait. Plus, this way we had a plan to all go together to get it. Brian suggested I call both stores, (Cincinnati and Dayton) to be sure the crib was in stock....so glad he told me to do that. I called Cincinnati, they did not have it but told me Dayton had 2 in their store. Ok, good I thought. I still called the store, to double check. Yes, they had two and no they would not hold it for me. So, since it was the day the coupons started and Saturday is their busiest day, we thought it best to go up to the store and at least pay for the crib before someone snatched it up. We were in line paying for the crib when the lady that was helping us previously came up and told us that they only had one crib and it was damaged! She showed it to us, it wasn't badly damaged, however they did not offer a discount for it and I didn't think we should pay that much for a damaged crib. I become a little heated about it on the inside because.....I DID CALL FIRST! I was praying and begging God to help me have a good attitude because I was feeling very frustrated. I did explain nicely to the lady that we were upset about this because we did call, before we made the trip and she said that the person I probably talked to just didn't go back and look. Well then what is the point of calling first, you know? Gr! So, she called a store in Florence, KY (the opposite direction, probably an hour away from where we were) and they told her they had 2 in stock and they would hold it for us.
So we called Brian's dad (since he has a truck) and met up with him, and the 3 of us went to get the crib. On the way, I called and asked for a manager. I explained to him the situation. I told him I needed him to make sure they had it in stock, that it was not damaged, and that it had our name on it and to make sure it was not leaving the store until we got there. He put me on hold to go do that and verified all that with me and I asked him for his name. I told him that if the crib was not there when I got there I was gonna come find him. He said if it wasn't I could come hunt him down and kill him and we both laughed. It was funny. Brian said the guy is probably used to dealing with pregnant hormonal women, ha! But, he understood my frustration When we got there, we went back and I told the gal we were picking up a crib on hold. She knew exactly which one it was and said, "oh we have been guarding it for you." Hahaha! What an ordeal!
But....all is well, I have my crib, it is set up and sitting our baby's room!
Aunt Katy came over to help too. We are debating putting this or another tree up in the corner.
My father-in-law working on the decor and hooks in the entrance of the room.
Brian putting up the vinyl monkey and vines above the crib. Hooray for our crib! Now it is starting to feel like a nursery:)
We worked hard on it Saturday. We still have several things to do, but it is definitely coming along. I just love going in there and visiting it often:) hehe!

Woo-hoo! I love it! I'm so excited for you (in case you weren't able to tell when we were talking tonight, ha!).

Well, I'm glad you were able to get it after all that mess. It looks great, and the room is really coming together. I love the monkeys on the vine--super cute!
